The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region's Before and After School Child Care program provides children ages 5-12 with opportunities for growth and development outside of their school day through activities and adventures that are child-centered and fun! We provide a safe, encouraging environment that promotes positive self-esteem and image, life skills, teamwork, leadership, creativity and education support. We have developed a variety of activities and opportunities for children, with an emphasis on eight core components:

Character Development-Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility
Health, Wellness and Fitness
Service Learning
Arts and Humanities
Science, Math and Technology
Social Competence and Conflict Resolution
Homework Support

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region recognizes that exceptional, caring adults are essential to the healthy development of children. Our staff exceed state licensing requirements for experience and training. All staff are required to pass a state and national background check before they are hired and references are extensively checked. Additionally, all staff are First Aid/CPR certified making YMCA school-age programs the standard in safety and quality.

Hours

The before school program opens at 6 or 6:30am based on school site and runs until the school day begins. The after school program runs from school dismissal until 6pm. A late fee will incur for late pickups.

Getting Registered

All registration paperwork must be received by the Association Child Care office prior to a child's first day in the program. Forms can be picked up at any of the centers within the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region, at Before & After School program sites, or downloaded. Payments must be made prior to a child's first day in the program.

School's Out Days and Snow Days

Our School's Out Day programs are offered from 6:30am to 6pm. Weather permitting, we have programs available on Snow Days and Delayed Starts with a modified schedule. Please see the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region's Snow Policy for more information.

Winter Break Camps
